Being an artist is challenging, at least for me. I am not blessed to be in a position to be a full time artist. My life is good but not without it’s challenges. Still I do not regret the path I have chosen. I work hard and try not to let the thing that brings me a joy nothing else can, (making art), be put too far on the back burner. I have learned that one has to live and experience life to make art. My work has definitely transformed over time due to my experiences, what I have been exposed to and learned. I have often struggled between what is art and what is craft as I have tried to explore new materials. But what matters in the end is that I create. That all artists create. And so with the daily struggles of my complicated life, I will never stop creating. Whether it is seen through social media or an exhibit or only delights me hanging in my living room, I will continue to explore the variety of materials I find, transforming them into works of art.

Welcome!
I'm Jennifer Nichols, a mixed media artist from North Carolina. I enjoy capturing the essence of nature through a variety of materials. I incorporate found objects such as strainers and bottle caps into my work. I am drawn to these items but it is also important to me to do my part to protect our environment by keeping things out of the land fill. Archives
