Krispy Kreme Competition
In 2013 the design I submitted for the first ever Krispy Kreme Doughnut Competition was accepted. Krispy Kreme provided the primed doughnut on a base as well as a monetary award to be used to purchase materials needed to complete the project. In the fall all twelve artists accompanied their creations in a parade that began in downtown Winston-Salem and ended just before Old Salem. Krispy Kreme set up an online auction which was open to the public with proceeds going to an organization selected by the artist. Proceeds from the purchase of my doughnut went to Art For Arts Sake (AFAS) and was displayed at the Milton Rhodes Center located in downtown Winston-Salem. In 2015 each doughnut was featured in the annual Krispy Kreme Calendar. My doughnut was featured in the month of May. Thus far this work has been the largest and most complex Mixed Media piece I have created.
